Un centro para niños donde aprender inglés es divertido !

Learn & Play es una academia que ofrece clases de inglés, psicomotricidad, arte y música para niños y adultos de 6 meses a 100 años!

Además ofrecemos clases de masaje infantil para madres embarazadas, madres y bebés.

Los niños menores de 6 años asisten a clase con sus padres o tutores para aprender juntos y disfrutar en familia. Una vez en casa podrán ambos volver a practicarlo y de esta manera reforzar lo aprendido en clase.

Los niños de 6 años y mayores vienen a clase sin padres para aprender a hablar inglés de forma divertida pero siguiendo un curso muy específico de conversación, fonética e iniciación a la lectoescritura en inglés.

Alumnos de la ESO, Bachillerato, Universitarios y Adultos participan en clases orientadas en subir sus conocimientos de inglés en speaking, listening, reading and writing. ¡Siempre divertidas!

En Learn & Play creemos que cuanto antes se exponga a un niño al inglés, mejores serán sus posibilidades de aprender.

Si añadimos clases divertidas, educativas y energéticas, las posibilidades de aprender son ilimitadas.

Week 6 – week review

Imagination Camp

Before making more crafts, we played a bit with some puppet animals…they really loved the cow…”mmmmoo!”:

 

We continue making things for our room. We made a frame for our favourite pictures. We decorated each one different.

 

Then, the teacher made a small picture of each one of us:

 

 

Then we reviewed some shapes: circle, square, triangle and heart. The heart is a bit complicated for us to do, but we did it!:

We loved this book:

read it again!

On the last day we made some maracas with toilet paper rolls:

we chose colors, cut a straw and put the pieces inside and…shake!

 

And we made some special bags to take everything home:

  

And of course…face painting!:

” I want a flower and a butterfly over here” (pointing on cheek). AMAZING !!

We also made a crazy picture of an animal. This picture has an animal, a sound that it makes and the name….but none of them are correct!.

Afternoons

We went camping!. We made a campfire, talked about mosquito bites, told scary stories, made a sandwich… wow!:

Week 6

We’re in our last week of Summer Camp until September.

Imagination Camp

We continue with our recycling program. This week we’ll try to make things for our room.

First we did a container, that we can use to put inside crayons, toys…whatever we want. To do this, first we had to cut the bottom part of a plastic bottle, and put some tape so it was soft:

then we added some glue and put colored yarn around:

 

 

On Tuesday we created a hanger for the door of our room!. It has our name and…lots of glitter!:

 

 

 

Week 5 – week review

Imagination Camp

We continued the week with more “magic art”. We got white paper and painted with white crayons…we didn’t see anything at first:

but then we used dot-markers to see all our pictures:

 

On Thursday we melted crayons! each one selected the colors to melt:

 

We love bubble wrap…so we decided to paint with it today! we made these gloves with bubble wrap and see what happened:

  

 

And we also prepared our hand print so we can give a surprise to the parents on Friday!

 

On Friday…last day, means we have to finish everything and put it together to take home. The teacher laminated the hands:

and got them ready so the kids would add the magnet:

 

This way we can put our hand on the fridge when we get home!

The last day’s project was to get a T-shirt and cut out to make a bag:

Now we have to make knots on the bottom to close the bag:

We’re talking about Earth this week.

We’ve seen volcanoes, tornadoes, the rainforest:

And we also saw pollution and recycling.

Lucija – Afternoons

We’re doing ancient history this week.

The first part was Egypt: we talked about Egypt made pharaoh crowns and jewels.

    

 

The second part of the week we saw Greece: they told myths and we colored a spartan warrior, then made a shield :

    

 

The last day we played the olympic games, made a laurel crown and a torch:

   

 

 

 

Week 5

Imagination Camp

This week we are going to do a lot of experiments, games and art!. Monday we started making some “sweet art”, .i.e., we used condensed milk to paint!. First we had to make the colors with food coloring…we started with red, yellow and blue, and then mixing we got orange, green and purple:

When we started painting, we discovered we could also create brown!:

  

 

 

And…once we’re finished…we could eat the paint!! Even the teacher helped us out with this one ;-D

  

 

Then, we recovered the ice-cream tradition!. We are going to make a game, first we make our ice-cream cone and then we learn to make some yarn pom-poms…we have to match them!. Yellow…vanilla, Pink…strawberry:

On Tuesday there was a surprise!. The ice-cream cones from Monday were laminated:

We started the day with an experiment. We got some milk and added some drops of food coloring:

Then, we mixed them to see the texture:

Now we got some dish soap and added a drop to this mixture…wow!:

Now it was time for the kids to try it:

Since we liked to icecream and pompoms from yesterday so much, we made others…but these were orange and chocolate!:

This week we talk about flowers. First, we see the parts:

This week we are doing the ancient history – Egypt and Greece.

We started off with Egypt: colored the map, wrote our names is hieroglyphs, made a small pyramid and a pharaoh’s crown

 

Week 4 – Week review

Imagination Camp

We continued with our week full of animals. On Wednesday we saw dinosaurs!. We have them big, small, spotted, with stripes, and a lot of different colors!.

We got some playdough and made fossils out of the dinosaurs!:

Also, we got our favourite animal and decorated a stick with its colors:

 

And of course we had to paint our face with a great dino!:

On Thursday we painted a giraffe. We decorated his long neck with coffee filters painted with markers…then we added water with paintbrushes…and magic!:

    

 

Every week we make a game to take home, with recycled products. This week we got a bottle bottom, and decorated 3 sticks. The objective was to put all 3 sticks through the holes without any of them falling down…difficult!:

 

On Friday we had lions! Fist we made a big lion with pieces of yellow and orange paper for our door, and then made a costume and painted ourselves like lions…roooaaarrrr!

This week we studied our body. First we saw the Parts of the body and our skeleton:

Heather

This whole week we were doing the five senses. On Wednesday, we did an experiment with sound. The glasses are filled to different heights with water. Circling the rim of the cup with a finger, the glass rings. The more water that the glass has, the lower the frequency. The less water, the higher the frequency.

The plastic cups contain different things (chickpeas, tacks, pasta, and rice). There are two sets of these. They have to shake one and from the second set, find the matching cup:

 

We have also been preparing a play “The return of the mummy”, and we presented it to Arnold’s science camp on Friday. We had so many roles in the play: mummies, security guard, janitor, tourists, …

 

 

Lucija – Afternoons

Continuing with our pirate week, we had to have a parrot for the pirate!:

   

 

To complete the week, we made a pirate flag, composed and sang a pirate song, then a spy glass.
Today we had a successful treasure hunt and then each of them made their own treasure map .

Week 4

Imagination Camp

This week is dedicated to Animals. We started with the animals of the Zoo, and of course we had to read “Dear Zoo” by Rod Campbell. We saw that some animals are big, tall, grumpy…and speaking about grumpy…here is the camel!. We created a camel with a lot of humps!:

We also looked at two pictures to see where were the differences…who is the same? Who is different? How many ears do you see? Where is the tail?

Some of us continue practicing to write our name…we’re improving!:

Since we liked the book so much, today we decided to do our own booklet so we can take it home!. We color, cut out and then… we have to match letters! We have A, B, C and D. Fantastic job:

This week it’a pirate week. Yesterday we painted pirates and made a pirate ship craft:

Week 3 – Week Review

We finished our super heroes week!.

Our super heroes have: cape, two bracelets, mask, magic “wand-sword”.

We also painted our super heroes, and then laminated them to take them home:

 

On Friday was Ailbhe’s birthday so she got the  shinny pom-pom:

Also, she brought a birthday cake, so we could all eat some:

  yummy!

 

The last day we painted our faces like real super heroes:

We had: Super Jorge, Super Oscar, Super Hector, Super Ailbhe, Super Duna, Super Ana, Super Anne, Super Lucia and Super Angela!!.

Animal movements

We read the book “From Head to Toe” and see what animal movements we can do:

Can you move your head like a penguin?

Can you bend your neck like a giraffe?

Can you raise your shoulders like a buffalo?

Can you wave your arms like a monkey?

Can you clap your hands like a seal?

Can you thump your chest like a gorilla?

Can you arch your back like a cat?

Can you wriggle your hips like a crocodile?

Can you bend your knees like a camel?

Can you kick your legs like a donkey?

Can you wiggle your toes?

“I can do it!”.

 

Weather

We make two weather crafts. One is a weather mobile that shows if the weather is sunny, Cloudy, Partly sunny, Windy, Rainy, Stormy,  Snowy, with a rainbow.

 

The other is a weather poster with our room, that besides including the weather also indicates the temperature: freezing cold, cold, cool, warm, hot, burning hot

Owls & hunts

With Heather, we have been learning about owls. They are nocturnal creatures:

Also, we had a hunt were we had to look for different hints hidden all over the classroom, learning about animals. The one that got more information won!

In class our students are leaning basic concepts like:

Verbs – Running, flying, playing, sharing, helping, and protecting those around us.

Using shaving cream and food coloring they mixed to create their favorite “flavors”:  Strawberry (fresa), Mint (Menta) and Chocolate.  They voted to see who like which flavors and then made a graph to compare.

They used brushes and painted their favorite flavored ice cream.

Science Camp

Arnolds group is studying Meteorology-  the study of weather and different weather patterns.

They have been working on different weather phenomena and they have made a weather mobile….fotos en breve.

 

Heather class is studying Ornithology which is a branch of zoology that concerns the study of birds.

They have been specifically studying owls, learning the parts of their body, that they are nocturnal, like Hawks and falcons which are birds of prey.   They have learned that Owls have great eyesight and hearing to hunt in the dark.

Today they have made a paper model of an owl with movable wings and a worksheet discussing this vocabulary.  Fotos en breve.

 

Afternoon Camp

Lucy is having fun with our students with directed playtime, free playtime to help them discover and use the eNglish they acquire freely, she is also working animal vocabulary through sculptures..

The students have learned to spell action verbs, drawn the ocean and their animals, the jungle and they have done some scuba diving and drawn their favorite animals.  Today they take home a special surprise—- an snow globe with the ocean inside!

Our trip to Australia with Lucy finishes this week surfing our ways home!!  Surf´s up dude!!

They surfed the ocean looking for animals and they saw some kangaroos,
